Welcome to the MSA Hockey Program
The Millarville Sports Association (MSA) hockey program is open to girls and boys from the community for ages U7 through to U18.
The MSA hockey program prioritizes the fundamentals of hockey and stresses good sportsmanship and fair play. Coaches are encouraged to maintain equal play time for all players, regardless of age or skill level and reward positive attitudes and ongoing skills improvements. The program encourages participation of both players and their families.
MSA Hockey also tries to maintain a referee community with education, support and wages provided.

About the MSA Hockey Program
Millarville plays outdoor in a non-contact (for all age groups) competitive recreation league sanctioned by hockey Alberta thats priority is sportsmanship, fair play and having fun. Hockey is open to ages U7 through to U18 for players in the communitites of Millarville, Priddis, Bragg Creek & Diamond Valley
What you need to know
Registration
Registration for players residing in the local Millarville area is prioritized. If player spots remain open after registration closes, players residing outside of the local Millarville area will be considered.
Important Dates
Early-bird Hockey Registration: Aug 16 to Sept 21
Discounted Registration: Ends September 21st. Fees will then increase to $350 and all registration closes on September 30th.
Pre-Season Practice: Scheduled for registered kids in all age groups. Sept 13th (may be cancelled due to Ice Plant upgrade), Sept 20 & 27, and October 5th 11th and 18th.
Regular Season Games: Games will start November 1st with all age groups. All games in November and December will be played on the Scott Seamon outdoor rink in Diamond Valley. Games in January and February will rotate around the 4 communities (Millarville, Diamond Valley, Priddis and Redwood Meadows for Bragg Creek).
Regular Season Practices
Regular practices will start on the week of Nov 3rd at the outdoor rink in Diamond Valley. Schedule is as follows:
Monday’s U11 6:15-7:15, U15 7:30-8:30
Tuesday’s U13 7:30-8:30
Wednesday’s U7 & U9 6:15-7:15
Thursday’s U18 8:45-9:45
Practices in January and February will take place on Millarville’s outdoor rink and times may be adjusted based off the teams preferences.

Full CSA approved hockey gear is required. Goalie equipment can be provided by MSA if needed.
Fees
2025/26 Early-bird registration rates ($300) are available until Sept 21st. After that the fees will increase to $350

Volunteer Information
The MSA is run exclusively by volunteers. All families in the hockey program are required to volunteer for the program to run. Each family will be scheduled to assist with ice maintenance for one week, and additional volunteer opportunities include coaching, team manager, concession volunteering, jersey manager, MSA board positions, and more.

Referees
All referees are required to be certified, check the Hockey Alberta website for upcoming clinics.
Coaches
If you plan to coach, a valid Respect in Sport Certificate is required. It is also recommended for all parents.
